2026 GKA Tournament Information

 

 

New for 2026, the Greater Knoxville Amateur will be run in conjunction with the TGF Knoxville Four-Ball Championship.

 

*You must participate in the Knoxville Four-Ball to be eligible to register for the Greater Knoxville Amateur

 

 

Event Date: August 29-30, 2026 (Saturday-Sunday)

 

 

DEADLINE: August 22, 2026 at 5:00 PM

 

 

Host Course: Oak Ridge Country Club

 

 

Entry Fee and Deadline: The entry fee is $50/player in addition to the $235 TGF Knoxville Four-Ball Championship entry fee. 100% of the $50 GKA entry fee goes toward the GKA purse for the player's division.  The deadline to register is is Saturday, August 22 at 5:00 PM. All entries must be submitted online prior to the deadline.

 

 

Field Size: 100 players maximum

 

 

Format: 36-hole individual stroke play in conjunction with the TGF Knoxville Four-Ball Championship. Players must hole-out on every hole.

 

 

Eligibility: Participants must be a resident OR member of a club in the following counties to be eligible: Anderson, Blount, Cocke, Cumberland, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier or Union.

 

For the Championship Division, player's must have a maximum handicap of 5.0.

 

For the Open Division, players must have a minimum handicap of 3.0.

 

No other divisions have handicap requirements.

 

 

Divisions: Championship, Open, Senior (50-59), Super Senior (60-69) and Legends (70+)

 

 

Flights: The Open Division is the only division that will be flighted after Round 1

 

 

Tees:

 

  • Championship Division - Blue tees (6,836 yards)
  • Senior Division - White tees (6,451 yards)
  • Super Senior and Legends - Gold tees (5,940 yards)

 

 

Points: The GKA is a TGA POY point event. Only individuals who compete in the Championship and Senior divisions are eligible for TGA POY points. A senior can only receive POY points if they are 55 and older.

 

The TGA rules of play hard card is in effect.

 

 

Stipulated Rounds: Each tournament round will consist of two, 9-hole stipulated rounds. If weather doesn't allow everyone in a division to finish all 18 holes for any round, that round will be shortened to 9 holes.

 

 

Practice Rounds: TBD

 

 

Gift Certificates: Top finishers from each division will receive gift certificates to Oak Ridge CC. Final gift certificate breakdown will be available after the final round.

 

 

Cancellation/Refund Policy: The TGA refund policy is in effect for this event. Players who withdraw from the tournament prior to 5:00 PM Wednesday, August 26th will receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. No refunds are available for withdrawals made after 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26th.
